If you want an audacious speculation, just imagine what would happen if Aber offered 1 of their shares for 10 of MPV plus $1 US cash as a sweetener. It would only cost them just over 5 million of their stock and $55 million in cash (petty cash) and they then have a nice carried interest in Gahcho Kue with DeBeers doing all the heavy lifting. Aber has everything else in place in regards to marketing and it would give them a nice diversification in supply with two different mines each with different operators. They could even do a deal with DeBeers to pick up part of the development costs (even though they wouldn't have to) in exchange for a bigger slice of the cake. What else are they going to do with their money? They aren't giving it back to their shareholders.
