Either life created the universe or the universe created life. In the final analysis those are the only two options.

No, darwinian evolution has proponents - Richard Dawkins, Kenneth Miller, Stephen Jay Gould (I believe he died not too long ago) are writers who support the darwinian theory. I'm sure there are more. Darwinian evolution, as modified by Gould (punctuated equilibrium) has long been the dominant scientifically accepted view.

However, there are very prominent thinkers that are difficult to dismiss as religious cultists or hacks who see severe problems with darwinian evolution as an explanation for life and many of life's complex features. I find their views very compelling.

In other posts, note my quotations of Lynn Marguulis and Stephen Wolfram.

No, I don't think I can provide more elaborate definitions of the Gaia theory and chaos theory beyond what I've already done. I haven't read anything by Kauffman or Wolfram or anyone in those fields. Apparently cosmicforce is impressed by chaos/complexity theory - perhaps he's studied something there.
And could it explain ... in English. ?
