I think close to 99.9% of the population thinks inflation is to be expected and is inevitable, like the sun coming up every day. The idea that currency inflation is simply an easy tax is beyond the comprehension of almost everybody, or at least their willingness to think about it. It's too easy to think we are dumping the debt on some far of generation and not notice that our own retirement buying power declining. Maybe when the bubbles all finally collapse some thinking will be done, but big screen TVs may be cheap enough for the masses by then and their devotion to their overlords will appease them.
