Because the definition of anti social is not someone who goes in front of millions. Anti social means you don't want to be in the company of people; not that you are simply rude with people.

That is only one of the defintions definitions.

because this rightie, over-the-top carping has been going on for at least 20 years.

Its been growing from both sides for over twenty years. A great example of "over the top" was the Daisy ad against Barry Goldwater in the 60s.
