I agree with your observation on the complexity of modeling future climate.

My 'rocket-science' reference was to the assessment and interpretation of the historical record. The world has gotten warmer in the past 150 years, and nine of the hottest years on record have occurred in the last 10 years, indicating an accelerating rate of global warming.
