It worked in Japan, Germany, and so far in Afghanistan.


You keep repeating the above as if they were analogous to the current situation in Iraq. In terms of Japan and Germany, they went democratic after tons of money had been injected. That overcame the stench of defeat. In addition, both countries had fairly sophisticated populations and/or had some experience with democracy.

Iraq has never had even a semblance of democracy. All it has ever known is oppression. Furthermore, there are three relatively disparate groups that occupy the country.

As for Afghanistan, there is not a democracy.......the pretense
of democracy, warlords and drug dealers rule the country and not in that order.
