Quit the day job. It gets in the way of good trading.

It also means you can't take holidays whenever you want. Or indulge in weird hobbies. Jobs are definitely a lose-lose-lose proposition.

You're sitting pretty on all those oil stocks right now. Time to switch to golds or cash, or better, a bit of both. Start thinking like a rich guy, KC.

One of the reasons I want to move to Italy is the markets will be open in the evening rather than bright and early Pacific time.

Such is my indulgence.

I quit the day job after I finally accepted my "career" was going nowhere. Being passed over for promotion in favor of younger people (several of whom had relatives high up in the company) was the wake up call.

When I also realized I didn't give a rat's ass about doing a good job any more, and that I was spending more time on stocks than work and nobody seemed to notice, well, you get the idea.

We all have our breaking point, and I sure hit mine. As I like to say to friends,

"They relentlessly f*cked me over until I left, and I didn't even have the decency to thank them."
