I haven't given ID a moment's thought other than the political aspect of it. You have not given any thought to the political aspect. As for the ID question, itself, I can't say I care. I suppose it could be an interesting area of study but one would need much more of a science background than I have to fully appreciate it and it doesn't seem to be worth that kind of effort. As a practical matter, whether evolution was guided by an intelligent being or not has zero effect on my life, best I can tell. Puxatawney Pete has greater impact...
