So whats your explanation for the Byrd lawsuit? You don't like big deficits and you aren't saying jack about Dem attempts to kill the line item veto.

I guess you could either say that,

1) Pork triumphed (as it usually does), or that

2) The Supreme Court did it's job in strictly interpreting the Constitution... and that Congress ALWAYS KNEW that it would be unconstitutional to attempt to give away some of their Constitutional authority over spending to the Executive with just a simple bill --- it would take a Constitutional Amendment to do that... just like they knew beforehand. It was just a cynical political game... pandering to some of the *louder* (but apparently not very well-versed in Constitutional issues) members of the public.
