Here's a classic Ponzi scheme suggestion. Chain letter. Not a Ponzi scheme. I ponzi scheme would be asking for each person it was sent to to send money to the sender. Gas rationing in the 80's worked I guess that depends on how you define "worked". As for oil companies that import ME oil and those that don't. - If everyone stops buying from the companies that import oil from the ME, than either they will sell it to the other companies that are on your good list, or the "good" companies will buy ME oil, or both.
