We had the same fight in the early 70's over "outerbanks". It would ruin the best fishing off the east coast. Millions were bid for the large deposits of oil thought to be there just for the taking. A few years later all the oil companies went home after finding no economically producing fields.

Wonder if the same will happen in Arctic national Wildlife Refuge?

I for one will be seriously disappointed in Republicans if they can't outflank the environmental lobbyists and get enough votes to support drilling in ANWR.

What the heck did we wait forty-five years to get a majority for if they can't pass basic common sense legislation?

Speaking of being politically peeved, I am still peeved Republicans have taken off the table term limits legislation.

What happened to the "Contract with America"?
