What the heck did we wait forty-five years to get a majority for if they can't pass basic common sense legislation? The problem that arises is when the Repubs are in the majority, they are no longer as "rignt" in philosophy as when they are smaller. The Dems used to have the same problem in reverse. That, plus they tend to believe the dire consequences the MSM foretell for them if they do it. I blame the present SS dithering on Bush. He should have laid out an exact bill and gone after it.
