Don't forget Germany too. I'm sure a few gun factories here and there could be shut down using a few bombing raids your air force is so good at. Schlock and Awe them. Importation could be banned too. This sure would help your trade deficit. The point is to make reduce AVAILABILITY by eliminating 1 by 1 sources and increasing sinks (i.e. confiscation and incineration). Now that's how you take guns out of the hands of bad people as well as good people. Sure the high end organized criminal (for instance, the likes of Ken Lay) will have access. But the street price of guns and ammo will go so high that street punks will not be able to afford them. It's all supply and demand (something you RWers should understand the dynamics of price/supply). Hand guns here are severely regulated AND our murder rate by gun violence on a per capita basis is 10 times less than that in the USA. This is despite the flood of weapons from your country (the US not only exports air/water pollution to Canada). Now that's something to be proud of. In America the NRA hides behind the 2cnd amendment, but in reality is just protecting the economic interests of the gun manufacturers.
