Not always. If the Haitians were smart, they would invite Hugo Chavez for a state visit. I'm sure that would generate some attention.

Well, actually Jews had quite alot of influence over world events BC. And quite alot of influence over what happened since if you are willing to consider that monotheism is a Jewish idea. But until 1947 or so, yeah, not much. And we could say that a few million had to die for their influence to suddenly become alot greater than it was.

But I would submit that it isn't merely a well-funded lobby that accounts for US support of Israel through 50 years and 9-10 presidents. And if you consider how much energy, attention and effort has been exercised by the Arab world vilifying, defying, demonizing and resisting Israel, them with all the oil, so to speak, then merely being well-funded doesn't really cut it, does it?
