Yes, and it was very disappointing to me how such a huge effort and amount of money was poured into nuclear power research, while pennies were throw at solar energy research.
And even if the cost of solar energy was relatively high, not to recognize and find a way to cost effectively harness some of the tremendous amounts of energy raining down upon us from the sun was a tragic mistake, resulting in much more air and nuclear waste pollution than otherwise would have been the case with a strong solar energy program in place.
