I confess I find libertarianism essentially a selfish doctrine as well, and selfish to an extent that (imo) might rupture the fabric of society. I have always thought I understood libertarianism better than I understood chaos theory (although cosmic has tried to educate me on it, but I've prove fairly resistant). I am fairly libertarian socially, but socialistic economically, for pretty much the same reasons Grainne is.

I feel I am quite similar to Grainne in both my perceptions of libertarianism, and in my feelings about the economic side of the libertarian agenda- could you be more specific about where you feel my ignorance (and presumably Grainne's) lies?

I found some books at Costco you might enjoy.

The Alexander McCall series which begins with Portuguese Irregular Verbs, and continues with The Finer Points of Sausage Dogs and At the Villa of Reduced Circumstances is now available. I read the first two books in Scotland, but was thrilled to see the set at Costco, and I'm sure I will read them many times over. They are very very funny books. Deliciously entertaining.

Perhaps you could tell me what you hope to gain by being rude?
