The woman is the hardest part in your scenario. ANY woman that isn't provided with adequate domestic stuff would be hard to live with. Women are like flowers and unless you want one that wants to be THE MAN, she isn't going to want to winter through in a cabin with an outhouse. It sounds sexist I suppose but I've never found many women that want to rough it in the extreme. My mom was about as rugged as any woman I've ever met and she certainly had her limits. Nowadays, she's settled into condos in Texas. At one time, though, she'd be game for almost anything - to a point.
