Are years apart. Of course its preferable to have democracy appear through "people power" (as it appears to be attempting in Lebanon) that through violent "regime change" (as it appears to be attempting to do in Iraq). But just because the first is preferable (your second statement), doesn't mean the latter is doomed to failure (your first statement).
