things go really bad and then really well

If by bad and well you're referring to the stock price, I'd agree. Otherwise, I'd strongly disagree. The relevant, company-financials and performance-affecting news has been just about all good: sub additions, equity infusion, paying off all debt, tivo2go, Echostar suit moving forward.

The DTV bad news, which has yet to play any real role whatsoever, was known a year ago when we hopped above $10.

Having tried both Tivo over Comcast cable and generic DVR from DISH, I've always believed that Tivo is superior. Much more robest and more intuitive user interface. But I have not compared Tivo to Comcast DVR/digital system. The boys on CNBC (Joe and guest) this morning didn't seem to know if there was any difference either. Can anyone who has used both systems comment?

. I don't think there are many stocks with such a soap opera history; things go really bad and then really well.
