Why would Iran not say they have nukes? (If they have them)

Letting others know you have them (and hence deter them from hostile action towards you) is the main reason why countries want nuclear weapons in this century.

Very simple game theory problem: You are being threatened by all out invasion (by the US) and military action (by Israel). If you have nukes, you tell them you do, so that they see how the game has changed. As trigger-happy as Sharon may be, I doubt if Israel will air-bomb some suspected nuclear site in Iran if they know Jerusalem will glow in the dark within an hour.

US' treatment of N. Korea (that obviously had nuclear technology) with carrots and Iraq (that obviously did not) with sticks is a lesson Iran is not likely to forget.
