The Dems are effectively saying their constituents are stupid AND can't read. And of course, they won't/don't mention that unions of various types compound that problem.

The Dems don't want the citizens to realize they in fact, can help themselves just a little bit.

bush needs to point out to people they will have limited options like they do now in a 401k program or federal program. they will only be able to buy into three or four programmed conservative choices.. they will not be playing in the market.


If private accounts as either a carve out or add on is the
correct solution .. why not merely enable the Trustees of
the SS Trust Fund to make the appropriate investments with
that portion of the payroll taxes that will eventually (?)
be earmarked for private accounts ?? .. Wouldn't cost much
to administer within the Treasury Dept vs the cost of creating and
administering millions of private accounts for individual taxpayers ..
