H5N1 is a bird flu virus, not a human flu virus.

Most of the human reservoir for SARS CoV was eliminated by death and quarantine. The animal reservoir was reduced by culling of civets in Guangdong and Hong Kong.

However SARS CoV will return to infect and kill people. Milder versions are still in animals.

Well, Bush made his nomination for President of the World Bank.

""He is a man of good experience," Bush said. "He helped manage a large organization .... a skilled diplomat, worked at the State Department.""

"Bush told a news conference that Wolfowitz, now Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's top deputy, was "a compassionate, decent man who will do a fine job at the World Bank. That's why I put him up."

And the world is unfolding as it must.

The is a new paper out on isolates from Vietnam dating back to 2001. The isolates are from live markets and the two 2001 isolates are from geese. H5N1 that is killing people in Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia, clearly evolved from a duck H5N1.

There is a new cluster in Central Vietnam in Quang Binh province. It has quickly grown to 4 (and no one is talking about the 4th)
