Hitchens referred to the NYT article on the WMD's in Iraq today as being printed "upside down." Which reminded me of the old story of "how to read 'Pravda.'"

One would think that claiming 'another proof of American negligence and disorder!' in the same article where you explain that most of the looting of weapons was obviously preplanned and done professionally, would ring false to anybody who thought about it. Are the pros (obviously regime members) going to wait until the Americans have reached the sites, or are they going to execute the planned weapons-removal arrangement as fast as they can, hopefully before the Americans show up in the area? How is that American negligence, if the site is looted before they get there? The only way to stop that is to cut all the roads, which the American army couldn't do because it was only coming from the South.
