Reports of the SARS virus in Toronto were grossly exaggerated in the popular media. Running the same pictures of the same people standing outside the same hospitals smoking did a lot of damage to the tourist business of Toronto.

More people died in Detroit of gun shots than died in Toronto of SARS during the same period Tourism hasn't recovered yet.

There is warning to the hysterics in all of this and nobody in Toronto especially the 1000's who lost their tourist industry jobs will forget it
