What do you think about the government promoting exercise among the population? They certainly shouldn't make it a major effort, or apply any punishment to people who don't go along with the promotion. To the extent that they do promote it they are at least promoting something uncontroversial. Ideally they shouldn't be involved in it but there are million other things they do that are worse, I can't get to worked up about it. I would get more worked up with the government trying to change societies values. Exercise is pretty value neutral. Tim
