I grew up protestant in a largely protestant town.

My primary exposure to Catholocism was when I lived in Burlington, Vermont, and I sailed frequently with the Catholic Chaplain from the local hospital on his 28' sailboat.

One day, we were coming back from sailing, driving up Pearl St., and we saw a group of nuns. This guy went nuts, going "yoo hooo, sisters, sisters...." waving at them madly. I asked him what that was all about. His response, "well, someone has to be nice and pay attention to them."

The guy was a real kick to be around.
