<<fiefdoms>>

Does that mean we're acting like Barney Fife? :-)

I'm more of a Gomerdom myself

"it is mostly because of juvenile behavior of a hand full of posters who prefer to post about members' with whom they disagree versus the subject with which they disagree"

I think you're putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. Reversing causality. Not that it matters. If "they" really wanted to discuss the subjects they raise, rather than just hearing their own views echoed back to them, they would raise them in open forums instead of echo chambers and wouldn't reflexively attack (or ban) those with divergent views simply for having the gaul to express them.

Besides, nitwits and lunatics making ludicrous arguments invite ridicule; and if they refuse to defend their views, hiding instead on threads with long ban lists created by like-minded moderators, they should expect their flawed arguments and their cowardice to be pointed out elsewhere. If they don't want to be subject to public criticism or ridicule, they shouldn't be posting on public message boards.

it is bads news

but I do disagree with the rest fo your post

I see more capricious banning than deserved banning

I see it on all types of threads

more than half of the top 20 hot stocks threads have bans

about half of the top stock subject marks have bans

juvenile behavior is not limited to coffee shop threads - I've seen juvenile, petty, biting and unscrupulous behavior on stock threads, tons of it

imo banning has turned into a problem

stock threads should allow all opinions, as should coffee and political threads, as long as they stay in your set TOU
