re: The Left most assuredly is. They have criticized and bashed Bush's efforts to deal with the problem, yet are unable to formulate a plan of their own.

They have rightly bashed Bush program to add ~$4Trillion in debt to the system... that's not a solution, that's a disaster. The Bush solution is always to throw for deficit spending at any problem. Even the Reps are bashing Bush on that one.

re: Please answer my question. If the MASSIVE tax increases of the early 80s didn't fix the problem what makes you think MORE tax increases can now fix a FAR BIGGER problem?

It's not a far bigger problem. And I've posted a solution a half dozen times on this thread.

Answer my question, how does the Bush private account proposal solve the problem? Remember, even Bush says it doesn't.

re: As to the 13 year olds having sex, Z made the claim they should be doing it, not me.

Show me where Z (or anyone else) said 13 YO's should be doing it. You are making stuff up again.

There's a big difference between what I said, which is that "I don't have a problem" with it and "should."

I've seen some good plans... none from Bush, no details, just rhetoric:

Bush Says Won't Offer Specifics on Social Security
2 hours, 14 minutes ago
President Bush said on Wednesday he would not send Congress a specific plan to change Social Security because it would be "dead on arrival" and admitted his idea of personal accounts would not fix the retirement system.
