The equity value in that deposit on a preconstruction high end condos and second home communities probably will probably evaporate as quickly as Enron in speculative marketplaces where investors make up as much as 80% or more of the buyers. It will be interesting to see the developments unfold as builders bail from uncompleted buildings due to cost overruns, declining prices and buyers bailing from their deposits in completed phases of the project. Amazingly most of the builders today are still having negative cash flow even in the best of times.
