That was Solon that posted that, not me. But, at any rate, there is a socialization process that some humans have cultivated. Mostly, they are cruel in their natural state and if you look at chimps, they are sometimes not very nice. Compassion is a morally evolved activity. I see little evidence of it being a natural state, except when dealing with kin. Dahmer didn't kill and eat his parents. They were strangers.
