I bet it is. Certainly through other laws if not a specific anti-canabalism law. You can't murder, you can't cause great bodily harm (which eating a person will do), etc. Don't bet a lot on whether a specific law exists. I read a thread where a group of folks were trying to find such a US law prohibiting cannibalism and they couldn't find one. I'd be more inclined to bet that there is no law. Cannibalism hasn't been a big problem in this country. Why write a law when there's no problem? Laws are written typically in response to people doing something you don't want them to do. It's difficult to imagine all the things people might do...cannabilism probably falls into that category. If I get stuck with a group of people at Donner pass during the winter and I start eating body parts of those that froze to death in order to survive, is it illegal? No, I wouldn't. Our framers knew what inalienable rights were, and they laid it out in the constitution. One of them is the right to defend yourself and your property with arms I didn't see the words protect your property and defend yourself enumerated in the Constitution. They talk about the militia and defending the country. Why anybody would want just the criminals to have arms is completely beyond my comprehension. I can understand that opinion, though what you expressed is a fantasy of the NRAs creation. It sure worked on you though. The bogus "argument" that they could all be taken away (including the criminal's) is a non starter. Another fiction of the NRAs creation. Much like the fiction you created that I wanted to take away your gun. And your friend's "argument" that guns are "useless" is just as idiotic. I can only think of two people on SI that I would consider friends and neither of them has been part of this discussion. Guns have lots of uses....if you live on a ranch, you can use a gun to nail a fence. A hammer would be better, but a gun will do in a pinch. How can you play Russian roulette without a revolver? That's another use. My ex-wife's nephew was playing with his friend who had a loaded gun. He was shot and died. There's another use for a gun...cowboys and indians. BTW, it wasn't against the law, it was an accident. No one prosecuted, no one responsible; just one dead kid. I can use a gun to rob a bank [Ownership society]; there's another use. Plenty of uses for guns. jttmab
