When one chooses what cases they are willing to take and charge too much on a contingency basis...it is hardly a gamble, it is making a lot of money off the clients unable to pay on an hourly basis at a much lower rate.

Not cowardice - Just common sense. For 30 plus years, my entire income has been based on contingent fees. I gamble everytime I open a file or try a case. I don't need to wager for excitement.
