The last execution in CA was in January. However, that was the first execution in quite some time, maybe 2 1/2 years. The DP story in CA is never properly reported, for a number of reasons. There was a literal lock on executions in the state for a number of years, courtesy of Chief Justice Bird and a couple of her fellow justices.

The worst punishment for him is being on death row for years, and years. In a ittybitty cell, and not very nice roomies...day in and day out...San Quinton.

I really feel sorry for his family. But even more sorry for Laci's family.
