Fishers (Star report) -- An Irwin Mortgage Corp. spokeswoman confirmed Friday that the company is laying off employees in its branches across the country and at the Fishers headquarters.
"No decision has been reached at this time on the number of people who are going to be affected," said Jennifer Gasiorek.
The company is closing down marginally profitable and unprofitable branches across the country, but Gasiorek said she couldn't give details.
Fishers employees were informed about the layoffs at a meeting last week, said Jason Jones, a validation specialist with the company. Jones said his supervisor told him an estimated 100 employees would lose their jobs at the Fishers office.
