"Look at the rest of the world" This is where the importance of history comes in. I agree if there were no guns in America there would be fewer gun deaths. Any dolt can see that. But we have had them from day one. The very articles you have posted have pegged the number of guns in the U.S. at OVER 250,000,000 (I was conservative at 200,000,000+). There is NO WAY to get rid of even most of them. With that in mind (assuming you agree with that premise): 1) Criminals will not voluntarily give up their guns. 2) Criminals would not stop trying to get them. 3) Most law abiding citizens would give their's up. A statisitic you should look up is how many crimes have been committed with people who have registerd to carry weapons. This group of people presumably has 100% ownership and it is a VERY SAFE group. When someone like you slanders them as redneck idiots it only makes you look like an idiot.
