How's this for a message to Inouye and Akaka:

You must think it's OK to drill the ANWR because it's so far away, or maybe because the only tourists are a bunch of polar bears or caribou. I have to wonder how you would have voted if 10 billion barrels had been found in Kaneohe Bay, or in the middle of Kalalau valley, or at Haleakala.

Right now the total estimated reserves in ANWR would feed the world appetite for four only months. When those reserves are available in ten years, they won't amount to so much as an appetizer compared to the big luau of daily world consumption. How many alternative energy initiatives will you now have to oppose in order to justify this vote? The weight of your principles and your foresight wouldn't sink a measly puolo. What were you thinking???
