I bought a house in Oregon that was in the middle of a clearcut converted to a grass pasture. The year they kept the animals out trees started coming back in. When I moved in the trees were waist high; when I moved out seventeen years later the trees were 30 to 40 feet high, and left untouched that place will become a forest once again.
