If you truly appreciate the environment, the intrusion of a 'walmart' oil rig in a wildlife refuge is a disaster.

The area where they will be working oil rigs is less than one percent of ANWR.

And should there be a mistake leading to a spill of any proportion serious problems will emerge.

Less serious then a big off shore tanker spill. It wouldn't destroy ANWR as a wildlife habitat. Oil spills happen, we can try to reduce them but we can't eliminate them other then by not using oil. I wouldn't recomend that path.
