Steve, I don't see the world in the simplistic two-party terms that you do. I vastly prefer to think in terms of democracy vs. totalitarian tendencies in this nation. And today, unfortunately, it seems that democracy is being shredded by a handful of imperialist megalomaniacs. The USA PATRIOT Act, the Department of Homeland Security and the new Intelligence Czar bill (which ran to 3,000 pages and was read by almost no one) amount to a wholesale destruction of the very things that make this country great. The American public seem to be mesmerized by the (recently exposed) government propaganda that pervades our culture and makes the real workings of a democracy (no bullshit now about "this is really a Republic") almost impossible today. We have a mockery of the legislative process with a bunch of thugs hiding things like the ANWR authorization in a must-pass budget bill where it has no damn business being, except to thwart the will of the public, who would vote for higher CAFE fleet standards instead of raping the wilderness. No, your childish insistence on being a George Bush brown-noser is pretty revolting to me. It shows a terrible lack of decency, a complete abdication of your responsibilities as a citizen and criminal mindset. You really are a disappointment.
