As of now, the Fed is better run and it has made a ton of difference. There is simply no question that Greenspan's superb management of interest rates has kept the economy rolling through what might have otherwise been a difficult time.

Nobody, nobody, could have imagined us taking the 9/11 hit without a substantial economic collapse. Yet, unemployment has not been a problem. Inflation has not been a problem. Interest rates are fine, if low. Fed policy, and a policy that was deemed overly aggressive by many, has been superb.

Greenspan's exit is going to be a bad day.


I would have sworn there was a day a few years back when you would trash Greenspan.
