I bet those Gyrenes could run that bayonet right up the Air Force's you-know-what. Great story!

When I lived in Juneau, I saw and talked to a Marine and watched him take off and land his Harrier. It is awesome! He could fly that thing straight up! They have to be careful where they land because they can burn a hole in the ground if they're not careful.

YOu should watch "The Great Santini" with Robert Duvall. It's an old movie, but shows what a Marine pilot is made of.

That story is practically true, I remember once our unit was getting close ground support from a Marine unit. The planes flew so close to the ground you never saw them coming or heard them till they passed overhead. They were SO CLOSE the air pressure, combined with the noise actually DROVE ME TO THE GROUND. jdn
