I see your point, but allow me to recollect that, we were a very bad country, we were about to become like Afghanistan and Talibinised, even President Mush played a role pre 911 that was not conducive to peace, he was architect of Kargil debacle, a country that was moving forward at breakneck speed towards self annihilation, comes 911, our world changed, unlike others ostriches like Arafat, Saddam and Assad of the worlds, we made a U-Turn that shocked even the most optimistic of the strategists, n this pages if you go back hundreds of letters are buried from Afghanistan war to Iraq war where predictions wee made that Mush will not deliver, all that is now forgotten, he did deliver, the wars are over, Afghans had their elections so did Iraqis, OBL band is on the run and Al Qaeda is being dismantled ; 60 thousand Pakistani soldiers are fighting against their old allies, now this whole change from allies to new enemies is a turnaround that made a big difference for 1.2 billion people in South Asia, it is this U turn we celebrate here, it is the peace we are proud of, burying the past and moving on is the game we play, not any other objective and we do it for our own good, the thread reminds me and all family all over plus few friends the changes we are seeing, now does this thread bring some opinion makes change their policies towards Pakistan, none whatsoever, this is a forgotten corner of SI and I do understand banality of this whole exercise, I feel taken aback why should it irk anyone so much , ignore button is dime a dozen.
We saw what can terrorism and fundamentalism bring to our nation, we realized that talebinisation is disaster, we stick out neck out, we as a government became government of moderates, our alliance with US was on gunpoint but Bush strategy changed the fortunes of our country, we the moderates who are trying to highlight the progress that we make are a rare commodity but we are no gaining foothold in the country, the country realizes that if we listen to ‘mullahs’ we shall be doomed, the optimism we have will change the destiny of our children, we the moderates are accuse of posting the bright side of the picture, a nation that is at war and bombing its own territory in Wana needs appreciation not condemnation, it is not the majority voice who is definitely anti-American that matters it is the government policy that matters, the alliance with US is firm and solid, yes, million faults can be picked, however what I fail to understand is that Pakistani search in goggle will lead to much lore negative article than positive, me as a Pakistani try to definitely bring what make me happy the change in the direction, the articles I post represent a fresh thinking, our ability to condemn Osama, his cohorts and ability to raise new voice has made us a target, the reason we are unloved here is because we give this credit to the policies of post 911, no one but no one takes the credit to save Pakistan from brink and that one person is Bush, those who have extreme dislike for Bush cannot see our generous gratitude to that man being so openly acknowledged.
It is difficult act to pursue, as moderates we are detested in Pakistan, as supporters of Republican conservative policies and great vision of Bush that saved South Asia from total annihilation we are not very liked by the liberals, but if one is liked by too many people I think he must be saying a lot of good things, for me no policies or outlooks are cast in stone, I am fluid, I look at every article with my own limitations, than I try to present it with my confines, my right to present my case is my liberty, on my own thread time ands again people who are free to express their opinion get pissed since I don’t acknowledge their intellectualism, as an ordinary man I always think it should not be of any consequences for a very big American intelligent guy to get entangled with an ordinary Pakistnai xenophobic.
