I would be one pissed off cop on mexican border patrol. But then i doubt those guys get any support , it is a thankless job. >> How many weapons are needed? How many can a cop carry and still be nimble enough to do his job? Guns, batons, nets, pepper spray and etc, etc, but they need more weapons?? What about that cop in the midwest that was struggling with somebody, had his tasr taken away and got TASR'd by the criminal he was trying to apprehend. 1 Shot and he now has seizures on a regular basis, yet the dr's dont know why. During the trial, the criminal said he was just trying to get away, knew what the tASR was and thought he could incapcitate the officer and get away without causing harm to him. They tried getting him on all kinds of charges, including intent to kill with a deadly weapon...the courts would have none of it and only charged him with resisting arrest and some battery charges.....had TASR been decalred a lethal weapon, not only would the criminal not have used the weapon, but had he, they could have locked him up the same way as if he used the cops gun. I do think TASR is a great weapon, but I firmly believe it needs to be declared lethal, regulated by the gov't, and no consumer models being sold, unless they are regulated like handguns. Also, I think I may have already posted this...but when I saw the demo last year.....the cops absoltely loved the weapon after seeing it work in person....every cop said he wanted one...but, are the buying? No. They are waiting to see how everything turns out, how or if the govt regulate them and etc...Personally, I think sales would SOAR if they just got off this non lethal kick they are on and let the govt regulate them as they do with other harmful weapons....
