The US cases are probably due to the H3N2 California strain. It has swept across the US and many who received the Fujian (Wyoming) vaccine still get sick. This year most students did not get vaccinate and A/California has killed a large number of students in the US by causing bacterial meningitis cases, which can kill very quickly

Actually, it is the lab tests that are a problem (only detect 20% of H5N1 infected cases). Case definition is better and 195 patients in Quang Binh have symptoms (2 confirmed so far)
