He did look bad. I think the panel was too aggressive with him. In tine he will admit to using them but I don't think yesterday was the forum for an admission. One guy asked him if he was taking the 5th. Yesterday wasn't about taking the 5th. It was about looking into an ongoing problem that needs to be fixed. They guys (at least some of them) were probably lying so McGuire came out looking like a dog. Major league baseball needed to be dealt with yesterday - not the individual players. That will come later. Now I don't support roid use but my blood was boiling yesterday. Sit the questioners in front of me for 11 hours and let me ask some deep dark questions. How many of those self appointed pompous judges would be taking the 5th themselves? My point is I think yesterday could have been handled better behind the scenes. Later on I think would have been a better time to address players with the intent to use them in a campaign against roids once they've come to terms with the story and admitted it. My intent is not to let anyone be above the law but there are times when you can take a mistake and spin it into a real positive. Since nobody is going to jail I'd say lets make a positive out of this negative situation. Lets also deport Jose Canseco for being a greedy rat who outed his friends to make a dime. JMHO
