I just noticed PMI dropped like a rock in 3 days once it did a double top and could not break through. I'm not sure but were all the mortgage insurers insolvent and then recapitalized after the S&L bust? And back then it was much harder to get an actual loan for more than 80% LTV. As no one seems to talk much about this in the mainstream with the talk all being about shorting homebuilders you are looking in the right place.

They do seem to be as interesting a bet on a total collapse as are the subprime lenders. I dream of NFI continuing up one more time to the 200 dma.

What happened to Doral Financial? Mortgage lender in PR and NYC dropped from $50 to $20 this year. Just another one of those clues the market gives you of what the future holds.
