MD, It has become evident that Terri's husband is far from being a saint, but if the medical people botched things up, there was good reason to file a malpractice suit.

There was a time that I thought he was just doing things for the money, but it doesn't appear that way now. Terri's parents have offered a million dollars, a divorce with no argument, and all of the personal assets that he has because of the marriage. He has refused that offer, and maintains that he is following Terri's wishes.

A decision like this can be a gut wrenching experience, and very difficult to decide what the right thing to do really is. I was faced with the same decision on January 21 of this year with regards to my Mother's condition. The main difference is that she was 89 years old, and had told several family members that she never wanted to be hooked up to any kind of machine. To accede to her wishes, there was nothing to do but have the feeding tube removed. It was sad, and mentally traumatic. As the next of kin, and only child, that onus fell on my shoulders. It was not an easy thing to do.

I have insisted that the same be done for me. Not to me, but for me.
