"I hope you're not serious - Cartels never work. "

Personally I sold my real estate last year and now rent, and like buffet am getting out of US currency into international currency cd's, equity and bonds. About 50% of my holding are international value equities and 30% international bonds and 20% oil stocks.

"Usually the very market makers who urge everyone not to sell, are the ones dumping their inventory of stocks / real estate / bonds before price declines too far."

Right, most insiders don't have US equities, so what are they investing in - holding cash?

People that defend greenspan say he is managing things very well - that he will be able to manage this event unlike the people back then who were not able to manage theirs. They say our credit loosening was not too wild, but managed, and our coming time of tightening will not be too wild either, but managed. Now looking at the great pictures you posted, what were interest rates pre 1880? Why was all this eastern capital leaving other investments and coming to california real estate - what was driving the population boom? Today open border have allowed a population boom - is that growth trend beginning to level out? If we can show more people why certain forces are beyond greenspans control, they will undersand he cannot manage this better than bubbles past but is a slave to natural laws like the rest of us. Some have forgotten that I fear.
