They don't have our constitution, and we do. It's stupid to bitch about other countries doing something different, when it's pretty clear they ARE different. They have state supported religion, for one thing, something some confused Xtians wish we had.

That always gives me a chuckle.

I couldn't have said it better than that: We are trying to teach a better, more accepting way of life for everyone.

I disagree on this part though: Our moral fiber and alleged tolerance would be far more convincing if we weren't marching around the world like an invading Roman army, though.

First if we were really like the Romans we'd take Canada and Mexico, just sitting there like ripe plums. And that paranoid fellow Chavez would have been put down years ago.

Second, when we do commit troops abroad, we make a good faith effort (frequently successful) to leave places better than when we arrived - including doing what we can to foster free, democratic governance. Not a Roman thing to do.
