Why not Happy Holiday?

It's like Gay Marriage. The whole issue goes away if the government gets out of the marriage business. Marriage is a religious and cultural activity. Domestic Partnership is a social contract. One is a loaded term, the other is neutral. What is the value added of the government licensing marriage? Do we license bris ceremonies? There'd be a better argument for that than marriage.

To wish my coworkers Merry Christmas would be ignorant. They are Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Hindu, Atheist, Pagan and Buddhist. Almost everyone celebrates winter solstice in some form, so Happy Holiday or Season's Greetings is perfectly acceptable and considerate of everyone.

You are incorrect. There were hours of discussion between the framers on this question. It's not just TJ- but of course you can believe anything you want. Just keep it out of the public spaces unless it is part of a multireligious display, or one of longstanding historical significance.

Thanks in advance
